Many places offer free or discounted meals and specials for birthdays, so give yourself a gift by signing up for their email clubs! Here are a few of my favorites (this is what I've read, may be subject to change)

Boston Market Get a coupon for $3 off your next purchase of $6 or more when you sign up and a free individual dessert with the purchase of any create your plate meal on your birthday
Buffalo Wild Wings Get a free dessert on your birthday
Chili's Get free queso and chips for signing up and a free brownie sundae on your birthday
Dairy Queen Get a BOGO coupon for a free mini, small, or medium blizzard for signing up and another for your birthday
Denny's  (go to the rewards icon at the bottom of the page) get 20% off entire guest check when you sign up and free grand slam breakfast for your birthday
